AMP Energy wanted to increase market share and consumption of their products among college students by leveraging the success of the popular video game Rock Band 2. The AMP Your Game $100,000 Rock Off countrywide competition sought out the best college campus crew performance of the popular video game. Understanding that the college demographic spends significant time on Facebook, AMP was eager to craft an effective strategy to engage fans and build its Social CRM.
Stuzo strategized and developed the online components of the promotion. The AMP Energy Facebook Page served as the stage for the bands to compete for fame and fortune via video uploads. Four finalists would face-off in a finale event. Stuzo’s engagement platform enabled AMP to manage every intricacy of the 12-week competition including live streaming of the finale event on Facebook. Administrative video controls provided competitors with viral tools to rally fans for votes and engaged consumers with mechanisms that sparked voting and comment distribution through their social graphs. To capture the entire Canadian audience, the program was launched in both English and French.
39 campuses competed acquiring 62,000 votes and 4,000 comments. As a result, AMP’s Facebook fan base doubled. With the help of Stuzo, AMP was able to increase their brand recognition and delve into a new spectrum of interactive marketing.
