Canada's biggest bookseller, Chapters Indigo, was looking for a fun way to engage their audience and galvanize the fan base about new toy products that were hitting shelves this season. What better way to talk toys then with birthdays?

Solution

This photo upload contest allowed users to submit their funnest, coolest, and best birthday memory for a chance at $1,250 in giftcards and prizes. Users uploaded, shared, voted, and commented on one another's photos and descriptions, amplifying the earned media that the brand was already receiving surrounding the new product launch. Indigo also had an intuitive back-end to moderate all submissions in real-time, along with a custom analytics interface layered on top of the Social Engagement Platform.

Results

Another successful social UGC program for Chapters Indigo, as Best Birthday Ever garnered 40,000+ visits, nearly 2,000 unique entrants, a healthy re-engagement rate of 11:1, and a staggering 23+ users returning from newsfeed shares. Best Birthday Facebook experience ever!
