Mentos wanted to increase its Facebook fan base through an enticing coupon offer.
Stuzo created a buy-one-get-one-free coupon application that was available for one day only. This unique time constraint created a sense of urgency, as it required users to act immediately. Facebook media was utilized to support the application and drive users directly to it. A branded Like gate prevented non-fans from accessing the coupon. After becoming a fan, the coupon application was revealed. Fans clicked the “get your coupon” button to redeem and print the coupon. They could then tell their friends about the coupon giveaway by sharing or sending invitations.
The Mentos Page gained 108,000 new fans, a 1032% increase! Over 31,230 coupons were redeemed. 2,500 shares and invites were sent with a 12% return on invitations.
