Each quarter, we ask the entire company to nominate their peers for values they find important at Stuzo. For Q2 2013, we recognized two amazing colleagues who showed the spirit and determination to go above & beyond the regular call of duty in both our United States and Europe office regions.

We are pleased to introduce you to the winners that were selected by their peers this quarter and take the reigning championship title (+ trophy and all the glory) to their respective offices.

From all of us at Stuzo to you – thank you for all you do and for truly going above & beyond this quarter.

Drumroll please….

Congratulations to Jonathan B who takes the reigns of the Rocky Balboa Award!

In Jonathan’s own words…

What do you do at Stuzo?

I am a Solutions Engineer and provide sales & engagement team support, working with those teams and clients to scope, estimate and determine technical feasibility. Once experiences move to the delivery team I support the team in providing technical support as needed. Additionally, as I am also a developer, I have been recently become one of the team members committing code to an awesome internal project.

What is your favorite part about working at Stuzo?

The team at Stuzo is amazing. I love working with enthusiastic people doing amazing things!

What trends are you following in social and mobile at the moment? Why do they matter?

Outside of work and our offices, most of us rarely use our computer, opting instead for mobile/tablet devices. I have a tendency to download all the apps and investigate devices and mobile OS’s. The Ubuntu Edge and ChromeCast (have two on the way) have garnered my interest over the past few days. The convergence and connectivity of devices really gets me excited.

In case we can help make your dreams come true (and figure out reincarnation) if you win this award again… who are the three people, dead or alive, you would invite for your dream dinner party?

Steve Jobs, Ray Kurzweil, and Yehuda Katz. Putting these three in a room and just listening to them talk would be amazing. Steve and Ray can tell the future. Yehuda has great vision where the internet is and should be going.

If you didn’t do what you today, what other career do you think you might be doing right now and why?

Investment Banking, Economist, or World Traveller. Coming out of college I debated the move into investment banking, going to school for my masters in economics, or taking the path less traveled. I ended up in China and then Nicaragua. Had the economy not taken a turn for the worse I may not have returned in 2008. Who knows what could have been, all I know is I love what I currently do.

Congratulations to Oleksiy N who takes the reigns of the Climbing To The Top Trophy!

In Oleksiy’s own words…

What do you do at Stuzo?

I am a front-end developer and have the opportunity to work on many different projects. My goal on each project I touch is to ensure I develop fast, responsive, and flexible experiences. We help our clients touch and engage their customers, and I think a front-end developer has a lot to do with making sure we are able to do that well.

What is your favorite part about working at Stuzo?

I really like new challenges and engineering. I look for the projects that have multiple challenges, new components, algorithms and more to apply smart solutions in my role and help the rest of the team do the same.

What trends are you following in social and mobile at the moment? Why do they matter?

I really follow and try to learn new trends in User Experience and Interface design. It’s very important for each project, so it’s important as an engineer I am skilled at making UX type decisions and provide feedback when I work with our creative teams. I like to think about each button (action, shape, position) to create the best experience for our clients’ goals. In social (for me I mean social networks here), it is very interesting to understand how information can get distribution and reach a viral nature. It is very cool when you implement something the right way to allow users to distribute (apps, campaigns, etc) and watch it go viral inside and outside a social network. That means, your experience is probably working.

In case we can help make your dreams come true (and figure out reincarnation) if you win this award again… who are the three people, dead or alive, you would invite for your dream dinner party?

Charles Darwin, Nikola Tesla, Pamela Anderson. Pamela would be invited to make sure Charles and Nikola learn how to not always be so serious, relax, and have some fun.

If you didn’t do what you today, what other career do you think you might be doing right now and why?

A few of them actually. First, an artist because I actually considered this as a child and am artistic. I also considered electronic engineering. Basically, I’d look for something that allows me to create something new.
