Microsoft Build Conference day two: Microsoft Office 365 app integration

As Day 2 concludes in the Microsoft Build Conference, let’s take a moment to recap what we learned.

Following tradition, Microsoft focused on developer news today. They announced major changes to their Azure cloud platform, and they offered new cross-platform app development tools at no extra charge. In addition, Microsoft also featured their HoloLens augmented reality system and its business benefits.

Microsoft’s Azure Cloud Updates

In the Day 2 keynote, Scott Guthrie, Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group, spoke proudly of the high volume of Azure Cloud adoption and use. He cited that 85% of Fortune 500 companies use Azure for their business.

Azure Cloud offers businesses the opportunity to build their own apps within it. In addition, the Cloud now provides IoT services to help businesses collect and analyze their data for optimal performance.

In other news, there was the new Xamarin integration into Azure. Xamarin now works seamlessly with Microsoft’s Azure Cloud. To make this even better, Microsoft is offering their Visual Studio program to all users at no extra charge. This allows developers to build apps for Windows 10 without having to pay a fortune.

Lastly, Microsoft made the announcement that it will allow 3rd-party app development for Office 365, giving businesses even more opportunity to gain exposure. You can now build your own business app to work within Office 365 programs, such as Outlook. Starbucks is already working on this, and it’s making waves.

With these developments, businesses now have options for building their own apps for an increasingly popular platform. While you once strived for mobile app downloads and reach in that manner, you now have an opportunity to integrate your business into your customer’s daily life.

At Stuzo, we can take this opportunity and turn it into a reality for your business. Microsoft HoloLens and its Business Benefits

Yesterday, Microsoft announced the availability of its HoloLens product, but today, they emphasized the impact it can have for business.

If your business has a product, and you want customers to have access to it, Microsoft’s HoloLens can take your product from page to real life.

“Microsoft’s HoloLens can take your product from page to real life.”

As Techradar explains, you can use the HoloLens to allow customers to see your product in action before they make a purchase. As an example, Techradar tells of a scenario where a customer can view the couch they’re interested in from your living room to see whether it would fit with the space.

With these advancements in virtual technology, your business has an opportunity to reach your target customers in ways that appeal to them. Instead of making them guess about whether your product is applicable, you can actually demonstrate how your product would work in real life.

BMW and Microsoft Build IoT Concept

During day two of Microsoft Build, BMW gave a sneak peak of their new IoT concept. Thom Brenner, BMW’s Vice President of Digital Life Services and Engineering, announced the project, stating how it aims to deliver “ultimate smart device connectivity that’s perfectly integrated into your digital lifestyle.”

This IoT project will connect a smart home with the person’s connected car. It uses holograms to show details such as the weather, calendar events, and traffic reports.

This concept runs on Microsoft Azure, which is where your business can get involved. You can build your own app to run with this program. You’ll reach your target audience in their home and on the road.

We work with IoT to build apps for businesses like yours. Contact us today to find out more about what we can do for you to grow your IoT presence.
